The past two seasons have seen the DH position feature a wide cast of characters for the Keydets, as six different players saw at-bats at the position in 2013 and 10 saw action as the DH in 2012.

This year, three hitters are in line to see the lion’s share of action: Red Dowdell, Sheldon Shifflett and Eric Mayers. Dowdell played in 15 games as the DH last year, doing so as a true freshman, while Shifflett was the player to see the most action at the position, garnering 25 contests as the DH.
