Event Group Preview: Vault

The women’s pole vault is an event in which the Keydets could surprise their fellow competitors this year. Returners Carrie Wortham and Jennifer Sing will hope to show improvement from last season. Wortham  is returning from an injury, and Sing is looking to continue her drastic improvement, as she’s gone up two feet over the course of fall practice.

Both Wortham and Sing posted personal best efforts at this season’s opening event, held the first week of December. However, the possible headliner in this event is freshman Kate Collins. Collins ranked second in Virginia in the indoor pole vault last year, and was as high as 14th in the nation in the outdoor version of the event.
