2009 Cross Country Season Review:

The VMI women's cross country team had its best year ever, led by the program's first conference champion, Hannah Granger. Granger went undefeated in the Big South, en route to leading the team to a runner-up finish at the conference championships. In addition, teammate Jenna Moye earned Freshman of the Year honors to mark another first for the Keydet program.

The men's squad finished fourth at the Big South Championships, after winning the Big South Preview meet early in the season. With Ian McGinn and Chris Wunsch both having had strong freshman seasons, the future looks bright for the VMI men's cross country program.
